Year 10 Volcano models go bang!

Wednesday 7th October 2009

10KM have a go at blowing their tops . . .

Yet again, this little homework activity was to create a celebration of the initiative of our students . . . the task was to create a model that shows how a volcano erupts and yet again we were not disappointed! Lamp shades, modelling clay, toilet rolls, papier mache and lots of paint were combined to create a stunning series of volcano models . . .

Take a look at the pictures of the models here

We even have a few videos taken of the eruptions (with Quicktime)

Monday 25th September 2007 - 10JC arrive in Mr Manson's Vulcanology paradise . . . . .

Oh the gas . . . . the smoke . . . . the bubbles . . . .. . the crack of the chemical reactions . . . . . the red lava streaming down the sides of a volcano . . . NO! Slemish mountain was not erupting again but mountains were indeed erupting in Slemish! The students of 10JC were displaying their home-made volcanoes. Take a look at the pictures to see the proud creative geniuses from 10JC and then have a look at some of the epic videos of these mighty eruptions and take a sneaky peak to see what really goes on in my room . . . . .
