Can you help make a change?

On Thursday 14th February - many of the students at Slemish College were encouraged to think about the impact that they had on the planet. We evaluated the global 'footprint' that we make and made some 'carbon pledges', outlining the different ways that we might try to help stop Climate Change. As part of this we had a fairtrade tea/coffee morning at break time for the whole school. Later in the day Starbucks arrived in school to treat the senior school and prepare the sixth year students for a viewing of the Al Gore film 'An inconveinient Truth'. It was a fantastic day and hopefully our students are now more aware about the danger our planet is in!

Have a look at some of the pictures of the day (click here for the picture page!)

1. The whole school make a point about reducing our footprint

2. Fair trade tea/ cofee juice and biscuits at breatime for the whole school

3. Starbucks in school (Mr Manson's dream comes true!)

4. Watching the Inconvienient Truth!

A short video to highlight some of the things we did will be found here in the near future!

Thanks to everyone involved especially Mr Bennett and to Starbucks (at Junction One) for coming into to school to help us!
