Giant's Causeway Fieldwork

"Giants or Geology? Visitors to the Giant's Causeway have faced this choice for 300 years. These strange rock formations beg the question of their origin, and 2 explanations are offered: the local legend and the scientific theory." (Watson, 1992)

On Wednesday 10th October and Friday 12th October 2007 we took all the Year 10 students from Slemish College on a Field trip to the Giant's Causeway. The Giant's Causeway is one of the top Tourist sites in Northern Ireland and Ireland. The students were to study the volcanic history, geology, environment and tourist facilities offered at the site.
