Geography is a Flavour!

I love Coffee! I love Starbucks! Recently they had a very special advertising campaign that probably caught the imagination of geography teachers all round the world. Geography is a flavour! And what a fine flavour it is too!

So that got me thinking . . . if Geography really was a flavour what exactly would it taste like . . . and then I thought . . . what sort of foods do you get around the world and where do they come from and how far do they have to travel and how much does that transport cost both in terms of money and in terms of the carbon footprint.

Can you find some food in your house that comes to us from a far distance? Here's a challenge for you - the person who finds something really far away (ie the furthest from NI) will get a special prize. Take a picture of your product and show me the label to say where it is from and email that and your details to

tmanson@thinkgeography.org.uk

Deadline is 1st March 2008 (please send your picture, details of the product and your name, age and email address)
